Mom and Dad were born, raised and married in the Coaldale and Tamaqua area and we wanted to bring them home for a final resting place together. I live in Philadelphia and did not know where or how to begin. Zizelmann Funeral Home was recommended by a local without hesitation. All of our wishes for a memorial cemetery burial service was handled and made available to us. I had the pleasure of speaking and meeting directly with Eric Zizelmann. What was most memorable and appreciative to me was his "genuine" care and personal attention that he provided myself and my family up to and including the day of the memorial cemetery burial service. Thank you Eric.

Our only son passed away unexpectedly at the age of 41 years. We were heartbroken and thankful that Eric Zizlemann helped us get through this tragedy. The Zizlemanns have been there for our family through the years. They are always compassionate and caring. They handle every detail when it’s so hard to make decisions alone. Eric is a true gentleman and is there for you at any hour. This funeral home is outstanding in every way. They have helped us with the passing of our parents and many loved ones. We definitely recommend this funeral home to anyone looking for excellence, patience, and compassionate service.

My husband unexpectedly passed away at 41 leaving behind a wife and two young children. I was devastated and broken-Eric was extremely patient and understanding as I was having to process this and make decisions. He was even gracious enough to make special provisions to meet my needs/requests in which I will forever be grateful for. My husbands service was beautiful down to every last detail. Anytime I had a question or needed more information-i received a call back within minutes. Thank you Eric and the Zizelmann family for helping me get through one of the worse days of my life. I am grateful for their compassion and patience. It goes without saying I highly recommend Zizelmann Funeral Home to anyone whose loved one passed. 💕

Having been associated with the August M. Gulla Funeral Home for 50 years, my mother, Millie Radocha, had high expectations for funeral directors. That said, she would have been very proud and grateful for Eric’s management of her funeral arrangements. Every detail was handled meticulously - from making practical suggestions, to setting up the church for a large viewing, to having Geri accept donations at the viewing, to arranging the meal – no stone was left unturned. In addition, since my mother always commented on a funeral director’s artistry, she would have been very pleased with her appearance. Our family is so appreciative of the “send off” that Eric helped to provide for her with his professionalism and skill set.

Over the last six years, we have lost my Mom, my Dad, and my Aunt. Each of their deaths occurred differently, but all were a huge loss for our family. Each time we turned to Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home to make the arrangements. Not only was their staff helpful and professional, but Eric and Jon showed great compassion, kindness, and understanding as they helped us to plan each burial. Over time and with each passing, our needs changed and they worked with us personally to fulfill our requests. I would highly recommend their services to anyone at this difficult time.

After the passing of my father and years later my mother, Jon and Eric Zizelmann experience and professionalism helped us greatly in this time of sadness. My family chose the Zizelmann Funeral Home as my grandmother and grandfather arrangements were prepared by Connie Zizelmann in the same professionalism as son Jon and grandson Eric provided for us. I highly recommend The Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral home to anybody.

I can't say enough how grateful I am to Jon, Eric, and Cheryl. I met with Jon to preplan my mothers funeral and when she had passed away Eric handled all the arrangement along with Cheryl handling some of the details. Eric showed such compassion, professionalism, and helped accommodate our wishes at the service. We are very thankful for all they have done for us.

Jon, Eric, and Cheryl were very helpful with both pre-planning and services for my mom who recently passed. Most appreciated was the warmth, kindness, and the "at-home" feeling. Very thankful for the assistance provided to our family.

Earlier this year, Zizelmann/Gulla helped our family plan a beautiful funeral for my 88 y.o. great-uncle. We had to wait quite a few days for the service; Zizelmann/ Gulla were patient and kind as I had to coordinate many out-of-state arrivals and many decisions after my great-uncle's long illness. Thank you so much for your caring and concern.

When my husband died suddenly and I couldn't think straight, one call to Eric at Zizelmann Funeral Home was all I needed. Eric literally worked through the night to bring my husband back home to Tamaqua. The compassion and kindness shown to me and my sons was unmatched. Eric and Jon got my family through a most difficult time of our lives and for this I will be forever grateful.

Losing a loved one is never easy, but Eric and Jon Zizelmann made this experience effortless for myself, my brother, and my 2 nephews. From the initial contact after losing my brother, Tom, to the last minutes of his Celebration of Life, the staff was very kind and compassionate to our family. Eric and Jon handled all the small details from the flowers, the obituary, and coordination with the my nephews for the the service and American Legion memorial ceremony. I would highly recommend the Zizelmann-Gulla funeral home.

Three generations of Zizelmann men have served my family well in times of sorrow. I was 7 years old when I went to my first funeral there. My mother's godmother had passed away. Since that time, more than 9 funerals for family members have been conducted at the Zizelmann Funeral Home. I have nothing but good things to say about the services that Connie, then Jon, and now Eric Zizelmann have provided to our family. When my parents died, Jon and Eric were a very calming presence, from the time the bodies were picked up until burial and beyond. They are gentle, loving, caring people who work professionally and with a deep understanding of the grief process. I can highly recommend their services with no reservations.

I can not begin to describe the compassionate and professional caring that Eric and Jon showed to my family at the time of my uncle's death. My uncle was August M. Gulla. The founder of the Gulla Funeral Home which is located in my grandparents home (so my family was there a lot of time). I have watched my uncle administer and perform funeral director services with TLC for 50 years of my life. In the home and behind the scenes. Being with, and watching Eric I know my uncle would be soooooo proud of him. Great job Eric. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Eric, Jon and Christine have arranged funerals for family members and close friends. Their service is compassionate and professional. They are patient as they strive to provide a service that satifies each family's unique needs. They take the time to learn the personalities of the loved ones who have passed so that they can personalize each service.

Just wanted to let you know how much my family and I appreciate the time, effort, and care that you extended to make my mother's viewing and funeral go so smoothly. Please know that you satisfied all of our wants and needs. Jon, we are so grateful for your advice, thoughtfulness, and comforting as we planned for our mother's arrangements. Finally, I must remark that you and your staff are very organized and work well together ~ a real class act. Many thanks!

Outstanding care and service. But more importantly personal and patient. Eric served me on this occasion. But Zizelmanns has professionally served our family for generations. They are on top of everything. As a pastor in a larger city I have been exposed to many funeral homes. I would recommend Zizelmanns to anyone I cared about.

Cheryl L

Incredible people who genuinely care for those they serve! I'm always impressed with the personal touch and attention to detail.

Very professional and personable. Zizelmann-Roche and Gulla Funeral Homes are family-ran businesses that treat you like just that, family. Throughout the years, as loved ones have passed, they have been there to offer us support, sympathy, and most importantly the proper goodbye for the ones no longer here. I highly recommend them and am grateful for how they took such good care of my family as if they were their own.

We lost a young daughter many years ago and as difficult as that was, we could not have had a more caring & devoted staff to help us through this sad time. Jon was exceptional through this devastation. Helping my family, with such a tender heart. When I lost my husband, Jon & Eric guided me through another very difficult time. Helping with every detail, with caring hearts and such compassion. My deepest Thanks for the remarkable way you assisted me and my family.

My husband passed away in 2011 very unexpectedly. Eric and Jon took care of arrangements in a very caring, compassionate manner on extremely short notice. I would have been at a total loss as to how to manage affairs without their help. My appreciation to them cannot be described. I can only say "thank you" for all they did.

Sometimes life catches you by surprise and you find yourself alone trying to figure out something you were not prepared to handle. Fortunately, I had the help of Jon and Eric who were by my side guiding me every step of the way. I never felt alone or helpless. Their kindness & compassion were above and beyond what anyone would or could expect. Their patience & understanding were greatly appreciated. Thank you, Jon & Eric, for being extremely professional, for caring and for making me feel completely at ease at a very difficult time in my life. God Bless You Both! Sincerely, Denise

Jon and Eric Zizelmann cared for my family during the deaths of two of my grandparents. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. During a sad and difficult time, both Jon and Eric were professional, knowledgeable and calm. They were willing and able to provide us with the individualized services we desired. They paid attention to every detail and helped us to have services that were personal and beautiful. I highly recommend the Zizelmann.Roche and Gulla funeral home. Eric Zizelmann took care of all the arrangements for my wife, Mary Jane's funeral in May 2013. He was very caring, helpful and professional. At that time of sadness and grief Eric and his wife Chris were very understanding and comforting to me and all my family.

2 years ago Eric and his staff helped with the difficult task of taking care of my wife's funeral arrangements. You couldn't ask for a more compassionate group of people to deal with.

"Life is a GIFT " Fifteen years ago my wife and I received word that her aunt then living in California had agreed to join our family and live with us in PA.on a temporary basis until we could help her find an apartment. Our aunt was such a Joy from day one we could never let her leave our home. She became the highpoint of our existence, the center of our universe. And with the Good Lords help and guidance we were able to have her live with us for six years and with the help of HFM in Bethlehem their family of administration, staff and caregivers were united with us totally in providing an extended family for the three of us our aunt, my wife and myself for a period of nine years. Initially with the help of Jon Zizelmann I was able to make plans for a traditional funeral , something I had wanted for our treasured aunt. It was never our aunt's request. After eight and a half years I realized I should do what our aunt had requested. She had always asked us for cremation. I realized that the two of us alone had done everything our aunt wanted for 15 years. She called me her son and she referred to my wife as her daughter. So I completed her request and with the kind understanding of Jon and Eric Zizelmann we were able to complete her final request on this earth. This meant that we did not have to accept the charity of a borrowed grave from anyone. In her final days she always asked how her mother and father were doing. So on Mothers Day of this year the four of us realized the time was approaching, we knew it was time for the four of us to return our Gift - our aunt to our Creator in Heaven. We said our farewells on Mothers Day, she passed away one week later. Life is a gift that must be returned, and with the loving help of Jon and Eric we were able to return our Aunt to be reunited with her parents and her son on the grave of her parents. With a beautiful liturgy at the church , we accompanied our gift and treasure to Rest in Peace on a hill overlooking the town , united with her family in eternity forever. Our profound gratitude to Jon and Eric Zizelmann for a job well done and for helping us realize and show our appreciation and gratitude for a life well lived. The funeral of our aunt was a meaningful experience and a fitting tribute for our family and friends. We felt like we had one foot on earth and one foot in eternity. Everyone who met our aunt loved her from day one .She was just so wonderful. I assure you there was great rejoicing in heaven as we mourned our loss on earth. God Bless
