Biography

Jeanne G. Krell, 85, of Roberts Road, Pittston, PA and formerly of Lafayette Street, Tamaqua, PA died on Thursday, July 29, 2010 in Pittston, PA. She was the wife of the late Oliver Alfred Krell who predeceased her in 2009. Born in Broadland, South Dakota on March 30, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Jane (nee DeVoer) Bosma. A 1943 graduate of Huron High School in South Dakota, Jeanne retired from the former Sears, Tamaqua and prior to Sears was employed by the former J.J. Newberry's, Tamaqua. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Tamaqua where she had been active in church activities. Jeanne was formerly active as a member and past president of TOPS in Tamaqua. Surviving her are a son, George W. Krell of Owl Creek, PA; daughters, Janis M. Bennett and her husband, Charles of Pittsburgh, PA, and Constance J. Podgurski of Bear Creek, PA; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a sister, Vera Gunther and her husband, George of Maryland and a brother, Steve Bosma and his wife, Gloria of California. Also predeceasing her were a son-in-law, Andrew Podgurski; sisters, Gladys Douma, Tina Dietrich, and Faye Maass; and a brother, Albert Bosma. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 2, 2010 at the Zizelmann-Roche Funeral Home, 500 E. Broad Street, Tamaqua with The Rev. Kevin Duffy-Guy officiating. Interment in Sky View Memorial Park, Hometown, PA will follow the services. Call 9-11 AM, Monday at the funeral home.
