Thomas B. Hanlon, 89, formerly of Tamaqua, PA and Drums, PA, died July 4, 2017 in Orwigsburg, PA. Born in Tamaqua, he was a son of the late Thomas and Marguerite (nee Kelly) Hanlon. Thomas began working as a bellhop at the former Majestic Hotel, Tamaqua and then became the hotel’s bookkeeper. He later worked for Mrs. Smith’s Pie Company, Hazleton, PA as a bookkeeper for 30 years. While living in Tamaqua, Thomas was a member of the former Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and was currently a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Orwigsburg. He is survived by son, Michael Hanlon of Coatsville, PA; daughters, Lisa Davies and her husband Andrew of Zionsville, PA and Lori Kooser and her husband James of Pennsburg, PA; grandchildren, Beth Ann Davies and Gail Kooser; brother, Robert Hanlon of Tamaqua; sisters, Emerita Depos of Owl Creek, Tamaqua and Catherine Jeronis of Riegelsville, PA; and numerous nephews and nieces. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 15 in Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 307 Pine Street, Tamaqua. Interment in St. Jerome Cemetery, Lombard Street, Tamaqua will follow the mass. Call 10-11 AM on Saturday, July 15 in the church.
