Robert O. Rarick, 91, of Valley Road, Tamaqua, PA died on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at home. He was the husband of the late Theresa (nee Moyer) Rarick who died in 1994. Born in Tamaqua on October 7, 1927, Robert was a son of the late Harold and Jennie (nee Stamm) Rarick. A 1945 graduate of Tamaqua High School, he served in the Pacific Theater during WWII as a member of the Navy. Later Robert joined the Marine Corps Reserves. He was a self employed carpenter until he retired. Upon retirement, Robert worked for the Area Agency on Aging and as a tax assessor in Tax Assessment Office at the Schuylkill County Court House. He served as a supervisor in Walker Township for 20 years and was the grand Marshall of the 2017 Veterans Day Parade in Tamaqua. Robert was a member of the Little Schuylkill Lions Club where he had held most of the officer chairs and had been the District Governor of the Lions. He is survived by daughters, Kathleen Rarick of Tamaqua and Beth Frace and her husband Charles of Dillsburg, PA; grandchildren, Stephanie Barron and her husband Dave of Tamaqua, Charles Frace of Dillsburg, and Elizabeth Frace Jones and her husband Ryan of Dillsburg; and great grandchildren, Jake Barron, Tressa Barron, Liam Jones, and Maura Jones. Robert was also predeceased by brothers Carl, Arthur, Raymond, and Harold. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Online condolences may be made at www.zgfuneralhome.com.
