Lorraine S. Bickleman, 87, of Newkirk, PA died on Monday, June 25, 2018 in Pottsville, PA. She was the wife of the late John “Jack” Bickleman who died May 27, 1984. Born in Shenandoah, PA on May 27, 1931, Lorraine was a daughter of the late Harry and Mae (nee Kline) Zimmerman. A 1950 graduate of the former Ringtown High School, Ringtown, PA, she retired from the Atlas Powder Company and ICI, Reynolds, PA after 20 years of employment. Lorraine was a member of The Parish of St. John XXIII, Tamaqua, PA and a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Tamaqua. She is survived by sons, Joseph Bickleman and his wife Marlene of Tamaqua, Eugene and his wife Linda of Winnipeg, Canada, and David Bickleman of Tamaqua; daughters, Shirley Bickelman of St. Clair, PA, Mary Koch and her husband, Sterling of Friedensburg, PA, and Ruth Bickelmann-Whitley of Tamaqua; grandchildren, Christine Ristila, William Hermany, Sherri Clark, David Boniscavage, Lindsey Clements, and Caitlin Koch; great grandchildren, Shaina Ristila, Koreena Bitner, Anaya Clements, and Breann Clements; and several nephews and nieces. Predeceasing her were a son John in 1962, a brother, and 2 sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Friday, June 29 in St. John XXIII Catholic Church, 266 West Broad Street, Tamaqua. Interment in St. Jerome Cemetery, Lombard Street, Tamaqua will follow. Call 6-8 PM on Thursday, June 28 and 8:30-9:30 AM on Friday, June 29 at the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 East Broad Street, Tamaqua. Memorials in her name to a charity of choice.
