George J. Love, 77, of Green Street, Tamaqua, PA died on Thursday, February 13, 2014 in Bethlehem, PA. He was the husband of Joanne (nee Cunningham) Love. Born on November 15, 1936, George was a son of the late George and Emily (nee Walters) Love. Having worked previously as a construction driller, he retired from the Tamaqua Area School District custodial staff after 10 years of employment with the school district. An avid hunter and fisherman, George belonged to the Ontelaunee Fish and Game Club and was also a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Tamaqua. A brother, Gary "Cookie" Love predeceased him. Surviving George are his wife, Joanne; son, George Joseph Love and his wife Tina of Walker Township, PA; daughter, Loralee Love and her companion John Dougherty of New Ringgold, PA; grandchildren, Brittany and Jake Love; and brothers, Paul Love of Tamaqua and Pat Love and his wife Barbara of Tamaqua. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 19, 2014 in St. Jerome Catholic Church, 266 West Broad Street, Tamaqua. Interment in St. Jerome Cemetery, Lombard Street, Tamaqua will follow mass. Call 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, February 18 and 9:30-10:30 AM, Wednesday, February 19 at the Zizelmann-Roche Funeral Home, 500 East Broad Street, Tamaqua.
