Bernita “Bonnie” A. Miller, 71, of Tamaqua, PA died on Monday, July 17, 2017 in Allentown, PA. She was the loving wife of Robert J. Miller, Sr. to whom she would have been married 50 years this October. Born in Shenandoah Heights, PA on February 27, 1946, Bonnie was the daughter of the late Donald and Elizabeth (nee Burke) Boran. A 1964 graduate of Marian High School, she earned an Associate’s Degree in Business from McCann’s School of Business. Bonnie and her husband co-owned Millers News Agency on Center Street in Tamaqua for 31 years. She also worked for both the Anthracite Drug Company in Lansford, PA and the Rea & Derrick Pharmacy in Tamaqua. A former member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Tamaqua, Bonnie currently is a member of The Parish of St. John XXII, Tamaqua. She was a member of the Tamaqua American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Bonnie is survived by husband, Robert; son, Robert J. Miller, Jr. and his wife, Amy of Nesquehoning, PA; grandson, Logan Miller; brothers, Donald Boran and his wife, Patricia of Hometown, PA and Larry Boran and his wife, Debra of Tamaqua; and several nephews and nieces. Memorials in her name may be made to the Hillside SPCA, 51 SPCA Road, Pottsville, PA 17901. Private memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family.
