Our Funeral Homes Today

In continuing with our commitment to the Tamaqua area and the Panther Valley, you should know that:

•Our funeral homes are handicapped accessible and have central air.

•Our funeral homes are fully compliant with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, and all the regulations set forth by the Pennsylvania State Board of Funeral Directors.  In addition, we exceed PA State Board regulations regarding the reporting of pre-need funeral funds.

•For your safety and ours, we take part in an OSHA inspection program offered through the Indiana University of Pennsylvania whereby our funeral homes are voluntarily subjected to OSHA inspections and audits.

•With the permission of the family, we donate eye glasses to the Tamaqua Lions Club for use in their "Sight First", an effort to improve the quality of life for the blind and visually impaired in developing countries.  For more information, access the Lion's Club web site.

•As a service to deceased Veterans and their families, we offer a live playing of Taps at interment and a hardwood flag case (cherry, walnut, or oak) at no cost to the family.  We also coordinate with the U.S. Armed Forces to provide honors detail for deceased veterans of wartime service if so desired by the family.

•We disseminate public service announcements in our local papers regarding changes in state and national laws as well as consumer topics.  To view the most recent announcements, see the Public Service Advisories section of our web page.

•We have participated in numerous public service activities, such as the coordination of local fund raising efforts for the National World War II Monument in Washington, D.C.  Our staff is also involved with the coordination of Memorial Day and Veterans' Day parades and memorial services.

•In an effort to be environmentally responsible, our funeral homes have always recycled aluminum, glass, plastic, cardboard, newspapers, catalogs, and linens.  Whenever possible, we use Simply Green®, a biodegradable and environmentally friendly detergent.

•Our directors and employees are committed members of civic service organizations, including local fire companies, churches, the Lion's Club, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, the Schuylkill Symphony Orchestra, the American Legion, the Tamaqua Public Library, and the AmVets.

•Our caskets are purchased from Schuylkill Haven Casket Company, a manufacturer based in Schuylkill County, and Reynoldsville Casket Company, a manufacturer in Reynoldsville, Pennsylvania.  Whenever possible, we also purchase other local goods and services.
